For the very first time in our College, the Department of Computer Sciences organised “Departmental Parents-Teachers Meet-2019” at Chanmari Campus. In response to our humble invitation, 33 out of 35 Parents / Guardians could turn up and attend the function. Notably, some of the parents came from a far distance like Aizawl, Lawngtlai, Hnahthial, Tlabung, etc. to attend and witness this Meeting. This is a sign of the success of the Programme.
Mr.K.Lalmuanpuia, Head of the Department led the Programme. After making a brief introduction about the events, Mr.R.Lalruatfela (Asst. Professor) committed the programme unto GOD by reading the Holy Scripture and offered a prayer.
The Department Report was given by Mr. K.Lalmuanpuia, Head of Department with PowerPoint Presentation. He briefly explained about the Curriculum of the BCA Course such as Introducing New Syllabus from this year, Attendance System, Assessment & Evaluation System, Add-On Courses, Mentoring Session, Scripture & Human Values Education, Computer Hardware Course, etc. He also highlighted some of the achievements of the department right from the beginning till today.
Mr. H.Lalruatkima, Asst. Professor had made a PowerPoint Presentation on Result & Evaluation System of the Department. He had shown them the previous performances of our existing students in Continuous Assessment and University Examination in details.
Presentation on Attendance System was done by Mr. R.Vanlalawmpuia, Asst. Professor. He elaborated about how important is the regularity of the students in the class. He also explained the system we are using on how we calculate student’s attendance before University examination.
Mr. H.Lalrinawma, Asst. Professor had given a PowerPoint Presentation on Student’s Profile and Parents Feedback Form, which was recently introduced in the College. Student’s Profile is a Booklet where the student’s details and records are entered. This Student’s Profile will be used whenever Mentorship session is held. Parents Feedback Forms also distributed to all the parents and they are collected back after they filled the forms on the day itself.
After every Presentation, a time for Questions was opened and we had good discussions and interactions with the parents. No negative or difficult questions raise from the parents. The meeting also suggested creating WhatsApp Group for PTA so as to enable disseminating important information easily
Mr. Joseph Lalhunmawia said Vote of Thanks and ended the programme by offering a Closing Prayer.
